Location is around 10 minutes from Keisei Ueno station which has direct access from Narita (around 40 minutes travel time). From Keisei Ueno, the path towards the hotel is flat, so it won't be much of a problem even dragging 2 suitcases. There is an entrance (Iriya exit) a block from the hotel to JR Ueno, which is one of the major stations, but to get to the subway (non-JR lines), you have to go to the main entrance which is around 5minutes from the hotel. I love the fact that the window can be opened, so we were warned upon check in that because it is winter, the heater is on, so we can turn it off and open the window. They also have option for eco cleaning, where only the garbage is cleaned instead of replacing the sheets daily. Although it is across Ueno station, you can't hear the trains. A Family mart is also located behind the hotel. Breakfast is ok, with several Jap and Western options (buffet style), but at around 1700 yen per person, you can purchase from the convenience store the night before and use the microwave at the lobby to heat it up.

The breakfast was a buffet. They give you many options for both Japanese and western breakfast. About a dozen platters are laid out for you to help yourself. Some are hot like they have fish and there’s hamburger patties. Of course there’s rice in a cooker and miso soup. and some dishes are cold like there’s a mini salad bar, and canned fruit cocktail. The staff was extremely helpful and kind. I speak very little Japanese and they were so patient. After we checked out, we were on our way to another city when my husband discovered he lost his car keys! We called the hotel and they checked the room for us. Again I am not good at Japanese so I had trouble with communicating what I needed. But they stayed with me on the phone and were willing to try and understand me. (In the end, my husband found his keys— they were hiding in his luggage with his clothes) I recommend this hotel and the staff 100% they are the best! Kind patient courteous generous

The location of the hotel was perfect - within easy walking distance to Ueno Station, Ueno Park, and shopping and eating areas. Via the Yamanote Line at Ueno Station, we could easily get to Gyoen National Park in Shinjuku and to the Ryogoku Kokugikan for Grand Sumo. Via the Ginza Line (access next to Ueno Station), we could quickly get to the Sanja Matsuri festivities in Asakusa. We wish we had more time to really explore the museums at Ueno Park and visit more of the restaurants in the area. Service was excellent - at the Front Desk, with Housekeeping, and we especially like the fact that we could easily make the hotel reservations online through Booking.com. We stayed there 10 nights so it was also convenient that we had access to washers and dryers on the same floor and the ice-making machine.

Nice hotel with good location. Right next to Ueno station with great local connections (train and subway) as well as shinkansen connections. Pretty quiet location despite being next to the train station. Staff friendly and helpful, with luggage forwarding available. Japanese breakfast available for about JPY 1500 per person in the attached restaurant. Near convenience stores and restaurants.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel! Rooms and bed were perfect size for 2 people with enough room for luggage. Location was fantastic, right behind Ueno station and 5 minute walk from the busy Ameyoko shopping street with tons of restaurants and bars. It was perfect for a short stay before flying out, with direct access to Narita airport via the Keisei skyliner.
